Hollywood's famous Magic Castle is a mecca to magicians from all over the world. It is a private club and has been home to the true legends of magic. To be considered worthy of performing in one of it's three theatres is truly an honour. 1980 Tim Ellis, only just turned 18 ventured to Hollywood seeking out The Magic Castle. However, due to their minimum age of admission being 21, he was only allowed to step through their doors at the family-friendly Sunday brunch. 1988 Tim Ellis returned to The Castle as as performer in 'The Palace of Mystery' showroom with Tom Ogden and fellow Australian Ricki Ozimo. The fact that many long time members said the trio's show was one of the best they'd seen in a long time was icing on the cake. 1989 Tim played another week in The Castle. Once again the opportunity to perform in front of his peers had made him create an entirely new show. Three performances nightly for seven nights flew by. 1992 One week wasn't enough and Tim negotiated to be able to stay at The Castle for two weeks. One week in 'The Palace of Mystery', and the second in the more intimate 'Parlour of Prestidigitation'. One feature of his act was his Kruger Kard Trick, recently voted 'Best Trick' at the Australian Convention of Magicians. 2005 Both Tim and Sue-Anne performed at the Castle, but in different theatres. Sue-Anne with her award-winning 'Jeannie' act in 'The Palace of Mystery' and Tim with his FISM award-winning cups and ball routine 'Runaround Sue' in the Close Up Room. 2006 Tim & Sue-Anne are chosen by the 5000 members of The Magic Castle as one of four nominees for 'Lecturer of the Year'. This is the first time any Australians have ever received such a nomination.
