1984 to 2000 - Touring Schools PDF Print E-mail

In 1984 Tim Ellis visited schools throughout the top of Western Australia and the Northern Territory as part of Terry Dansic's 'Star Magic Show'. The experience encouraged him to create his own theatrical magic show for schools and later that year he created 'Magic Unlimited' - a show that saw Tim perform as several different magical characters including Bon, Kev the Cleaner and Professor Googalfitz.

In 1987 he created a brand new show called 'Spellbinder' and after successfully performing it at Myer Melbourne and Expo 88 in Brisbane, he toured the show throughout schools for the Victorian Arts Council.

The success of 'Spellbinder' had schools demanding a return season, but rather than simply do the same show again Tim created 'Dreamweaver', a show which enabled children to live out their dreams live on stage. This toured for the Victorian Arts Council in 1991.

In 1994 Tim created a new show which taught the history of magic. 'Pure Magic' (featuring Michael Boyd) toured for the Victorian Arts Council in 1994.

Despite an increasingly hectic schedule, there was one school show yet to perform. In 1999 Sue-Anne's award-winning 'Haunted Mansion' stage act was extended into a one hour show and became 'Magic Unlimited's Best Show Ever'. This show toured for both the Victorian Arts Council as well as Nexus Arts from 1999 to 2000. Sue-Anne wrote a 'How To' guide for magicians based on this show entitled 'Have You Ever Thought About School Tours'. Michael Boyd even returned to be a part of a one-off 'Special Edition' version of this show which was performed for 900 students at once.
