THE STRAITJACKET ESCAPE The Straitjacket Escape was popularised by the great Harry Houdini at the beginning of the 20th century and is one of the most famous escapes of all time. Though the use of straitjackets as restraints has been replaced by mind-numbing drugs, they are still considered one of the most effective forms of incarceration today. And it's extremely entertaining watching someone try to get out of one! Ellis & Webster offer three different presentations of this classic effect. STAND UP ESCAPEEither Tim, or Sue-Anne, is tied up in the straitjacket by volunteers of your choosing, and in full view of the audience they attempt to free themselves in under 60 seconds! ESCAPE CHALLENGEYour volunteers tie Sue-Anne in the straitjacket, and Tim in 100' of chain inside a plastic garbage bag. The race is on to see which magician can escape first! It's the classic battle between male and female, husband and wife, live on stage! AERIAL ESCAPETim is restrained in the straitjacket then hoisted, by his ankles, to the ceiling of your venue or, if outdoor, up to 35m high. Tim has performed this everywhere from The Grand Hyatt, The Rod Laver Arena, to the dead centre of Australia - Alice Springs - hanging from a crane. NOTE: The Straitjacket Escape occurs no additional charge, except for The Aerial Escape. This will incur addtional costs for licensed rigger and/or crane.
